Wave Crest is located in a Gaeltacht area which is an area where the Irish language is brought alive. There are just two Gaeltacht areas in Kerry - one on the Dingle Peninsula (Leithinis Chorca Dhuibhne) and the other is the Iveragh Gaeltacht - which includes Derrynane. There is a wealth of heritage and tradition attached to the Irish language: literature, music and culture.
